& Reactor Fabrication

Half-pipe jacketed reactors are typically the workhorse of many chemical synthesis processes. Bishopric Industries is an industry leader in the design and manufacturing of half-pipe jacketed reactors with decades of experience serving customers in the life sciences, chemical, petrochemical, and other related sectors using chemical processes that include:

Monomers

Fermentation

Pharmaceutical

Polymerization

Polyols

Hydrogenation

How Bishopric Fabricates Half-Pipe Reactors

Our shops feature 985,000 square feet of fabrication space, a lift capacity of up to 1,000,000 pounds with specialized equipment, and proprietary processes for designing and fabricating half-pipe reactors. Bishopric’s in-house engineering team will work with you to develop designs that provide the best value based on your facility’s process.

Our engineering and fabrication teams work together to:

  • Optimize processes that solve challenges such as weld cracking and leaks.
  • Reduce reactor internal wall waviness due to excessive weld heat.
  • Incorporate reactor modeling to determine optimum designs.
  • Increase reactor service life in cyclic operations.
  • Develop cost-effective designs to meet operational performance applications.
  • Axisymmetric assessment on thermal designs.
  • Proprietary fit-up and full-penetration welding to eliminate weld gaps.
  • Continuous coil welding—with no limit on size—to eliminate butt welds.
  • Continuous coil welding around the tank heads and over the knuckle to maximize heat transfer area.
  • Guaranteed 100% interior weld inspection.
